About the Owners
Robert & Sheila Fleming have been hospitality professionals for more years than they at times care to remember. Both have a passion for food that shows through everything they do at The Magnolia Pancake Haus.
Robert is an "Old School" restaurant pro who came up though the business starting at age 14 in Chicago Illinois. With a dual degree in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Robert has worked for some of the best in the hospitality business. Stints with Hyatt Hotels, Sheraton Worldwide and Intercontinental Hotels have exposed him to the finest operations in North American. On the restaurant side, tours of duty with TGI Friday's, Houlihan's, Cervante's of Chicago coupled with such San Antonio memorable spots as Cyrano's, Potpourri, and the fondly remembered Steamer's Cafe left him with a love of comfort food well served that few in the industry today can claim.
Growing up in Munich germany Sheila fondly recalls the wonderful meals she enjoyed in the kuche of her maternal Oma. Great sausages, suppes and of course Oma’s wundebar Pfannekuchen all lead to her appreciation for great food. Being the yin to Robert’s culinary yang, Sheila keeps the focus on ensuring that there are plenty of healthful options in addition to all the decadent treats the kitchen prepares daily.
